Degree in Hotel Management - Joint Entrance Examination

Introduction
Government sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition offer a 3 year Diploma course in Hotel Management.

In the month of April/May every year National Council for Hotel Management Catering Technology, PUSA, New Delhi conducts a joint entrance examination for admission to Hotel Management institutes.

 
 
Eligibility

To appear for Hotel Management Entrance Test a candidate must -

  1. have passed Std.XII or other equivalent examination in any academic or vocational stream with English as compulsory subject. Those who will appear for such examination in March 2008 are also provisionally eligible.
  2. not be more than 22yrs of age as on 1st July 2008(relaxable upto 25yrs. for SC/ST candidates).
 
 
Mode of Selection

  • Candidate will be called to appear for objective type written examination to be held at specified centres.
         The examination will test the candidates ability in -
    1. Reasoning and Logical Deductions
    2. Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude
    3. Service & Hospitality Aptitude
    4. English Language
    5. General Knowledge
  • On the basis of their performance in the written examination, the candidate will be called for the interview at specified
         centre.
  • The final selection will be on the basis of overall performance in the written examination, interview and weightage for
         participation in sports and successful completion of Craft course(s) from any one of the recognised catering
         Institutes.

    Nature of Examination

    The Written Test will be of multiple-choice-objective type. There shall be one paper of 3 hrs duration carrying 200 questions.
